Life Buoy Light BRIGHTEYE RSQD-1 At night, a person overboard will disappear from sight in just a few seconds and a life-buoy light or a light worn by the person overboard may help in providing a common reference for both the victim in the water and the returning vessel. Great Circle’s SOLAS standard life buoy light is usually attached to a life ring by means of its associated tether, so when the life ring is thrown in the water, the accompanying light will activate automatically when its sensors make contact with water. The super bright LED light floats upright and starts flashing automatically and will provide an equivalent light intensity of at least two candelas with visibility of up to 2 miles at night. The light will turn off automatically when taken from the water.
